Assam - Online Ration Card Procedure

Ration card is also known as Family Identity Cards (FIC) are issued by the Assam Government to its citizens for their welfare of the society.

Assam State

There are 3 classes of Ration Cards

1. Above Poverty Line - It is yellow in colour and to be issued to the person who is having income above INR 15000/- per annum.

2. Below Poverty Line - It is red in colour and to be issued to the person who is having the income below INR 15000/- per annum.

3. Antyodaya Anna Yojana - It is green in colour and to be issued to the families who don't have the proper means of earning and below the poverty line are taken into this.

Procedure for applying ration card

The individual must produce a certificate from the Village Head/Gaon Panchayat President/Ward Commissioner/ Inspector, FCS&CA / Concerned Authority in writing that the person having no ration card. Such a certificate will normally be granted after the person files an affidavit to this effect to the issuing authority. This document is to be attached along with the ration card application form.The application for applying a New ration card should be made to the FCS & CA authority of the District/Sub-Division(C).

Copies of birth certificates of minor members(Below 10 years of age)

Certified copy of relevant page of Voter List

Copy of Tax Pay / Land Revenue Pay receipt

Surrender certificate of Ration Card/Family Identity holding or non-availability certificate from the FCS&CA authority where the applicant has previously resided.

Address Proof (attested copy of PAN Card /Driving License / Bank Passbook / Post Office Passbook /Municipal Holding receipt / Electricity Bill / Telephone Bill)
