3 types of ration card are there


  • Below Poverty Line (BPL) - These are pink colour ration cards. Families under the BPL category are considered and authenticated by the Panchayat of the Union Territory.
  • Antyodaya Anna yojana - These are red colour ration cards. Families under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana are considered by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA).
  • Annapurna Yojana - These are blue colour ration cards. This is implementing from 2001 - 2002, in this scheme citizens who are not part of National Old Age Pension Scheme. Selection are taken by the Panchayat of the Union territory.

For new ration card

Eligibility - Any resident of Dadra and Nager Haveli

Application Fee - Rs 10/-

Expected time frame for the disposal of the application request - 7 days

Procedure - Application form to be submitted accompanied with the required documents.

Required documents
  • Download the declaration form here
  • Proof of residence with house number issued by the Gram Panchayat.
  • In case of the person applying for the separate ration card then parental family, separate residential proof from his parental residence shall be submitted.
  • In case for migrants, surrender certificates issued by Mamlatdar/ Civil Supply office/ other authorized officer of state/U.T/District of original place of residence also be submitted.
  • If the applicant is residing on rent, rent receipts from the house owner and if the person is residing in the accommodation provided by the private company in which he currently working, letter from company mentioning the same as above.

Duplicate ration card

Who has lost the ration card, they can apply for a duplicate ration card.

Required documents

  • Certificate of the house number from concerned Panchayat.
  • Affidavit from the executive Magistrate in case of loss of ration card.
  • Certificate from concerned F.P shop to the effect that card stood registered with F.P shop with entry of ration card.
  • 2 passport size photos of the head of the family
  • Applicable fee Rs 10/- 
  • Expected time - 7 days.
